With the Summer season well underway, and preparations starting to ramp up for the 2025 Junior season, now is the perfect time to prepare coaches – old and new – for the rigours of the new season.

Basketball ACT recently conducted a Community Coaching Course at Radford College, for members of the Eagles – a Sudanese community basketball program – to upskill their knowledge and understanding of coaching principles, drills, approach and delivery, and provide a Community Coach accreditation.

BACT Coaching Coordinator, Jontee Brown took the participants through a theoretical component in the morning, to familiarise common terms and concepts of the game, before heading out to the courts for a more practical demonstration of concepts and activities.

Coaches in attendance were bouncing with excitement at the possibilities and potential of incorporating drills and concepts into their own training programs, even while being put thorough their own paces.

To support coaches after their course, Basketball ACT has also implemented a new Coaching Portal through the Basketball ACT app, powered by Tiparra, that will help coaches plan training sessions, incorporate relevant drills and expand concept learning with ease.

Basketball ACT conducts numerous Coaching Courses through the year, across all levels of accreditation for interested coaches to register for – you can keep an eye on upcoming Course details at https://www.basketballact.com.au/coaches/courses/

Basketball ACT also delivers Coaching Course directly with your club. This is the easiest way to ensure new coaches, and those seeking accreditation, can be provided with tailored content.
