The Gudhurr Boys Group, previously known as the Indigenous Game Development Program. In 2024, the group not only built their basketball skills but also had the incredible opportunity to contribute to the design of the official NBL1 Indigenous Round singlet, an experience that allowed them to express pride in culture and community on a larger stage.
They also took part in leadership and cultural development sessions delivered in partnership with Hoops4Health, helping to strengthen their confidence, identity, and voice both on and off the court. These experiences have shaped the group into a tight-knit, respectful, and culturally connected community of young leaders.
The program will shift to include a stronger on-court focus, building basketball fundamentals, teamwork, and game awareness. The term will also introduce exciting new elements—including a wheelchair basketball session, encouraging empathy, inclusion, and broader understanding of the basketball community. Led by experienced coaches and cultural mentors, the Gudhurr Boys Group continues to grow as a space for Indigenous boys to thrive, connect, and develop both as athletes and as proud young men.
