The annual Athlead Summer Slam and Junior Slam season got underway on Friday 22 September, with the announcement of this year’s team names, coaches and players for the upcoming event.

Over 150 people were in attendance as each team was introduced, and provided with their playing uniform for the upcoming season.

Overall 4 x U15 Boys and 4 x U17 Boys Junior Slam teams were announced, as well as 4 x Women’s and 5 x Men’s Athlead Summer Slam teams for 2023.

Basketball ACT has delayed the start of the U15/U17 Girls Junior Slam, due to an increased number of eligible nominees meaning additional teams can be allocated. The U15/17 Girls Junior Slam draft and team announcements will take place in a few weeks.

On-court action will commence:

  • Wednesday 11 October 2023 (Athlead Summer Slam);
  • Friday 13 October 2023 (U15 & U17 Boys Junior Slam)
