Basketball ACT Nominated for CBR Sports Awards after Another Huge Year

Basketball ACT has received several nominations in the prestigious CBR Sports Awards for 2024.
The annual sports awards, presented by ACT Government Sport and Recreation, highlight the many achievements of the ACT sporting landscape across the last 12 months.
In 2024, Basketball ACT received nominations in the following categories:
Meanwhile, in further recognition of our sport in the region, UC Capitals player, Jade Melbourne was also nominated for the ACT Athlete of the Year – Women’s Sport award.

It was also announced that Ron Harvey CVO AM and UC Director of Sport, Carrie Graf will both be inducted into the ACT Sport Hall of Fame as Associate Members in 2024, for their lifelong dedication and contribution to the sport of basketball in the ACT.
When announcing the Hall of Fame inductees, ACT Minister for Sport, Yvette Berry said, “Each year the ACT Sport Hall of Fame inducts a select group of people who have been nominated by their sport for their achievements and enormous contribution, making our community proud and adding yet another chapter to our community’s rich sporting history.”
“Congratulations to the four new inductees into the ACT Sport Hall of Fame – Katrina Fanning, Carrie Graf, Ron Harvey and Brad Haddin. Your achievements and service to sport in Canberra and Australia inspires us all.”, Minister Berry concluded.
