Basketball ACT School Competitions
Basketball ACT delivers a range of school competitions across the ACT for primary, high school, and college students. These competitions are hosted to provide a fantastic opportunity for students of all skill levels to get involved in the game.
Open to all local schools, our events focus on participation, development, and sportsmanship, fostering a love of basketball in a fun, inclusive, and competitive environment.
Whether students are just starting out or already passionate about the sport, our school competitions offer something for everyone.
Sue Geh & Jamie Pearlman Cup – Primary Competition
2025 Competition Closed
The Sue Geh (Girls) & Jamie Pearlman Cup (Boys) are Basketball ACT’s annual competitions open to any primary schools in Canberra. With boys and girls divisions for Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 students played in North, South and Gungahlin school conferences, the annual primary school competitions culminate in the best of each conference playing off in the Finals.
Kate Tominac & John Stelzer Cup – College Competition
2025 Competition Closed
The Kate Tominac Cup (Girls) & John Stelzer Cup (Boys) are Basketball ACT’s annual secondary school tournaments. Both cups are contested across Open Divisions.
The Champion of the Kate Tominac and John Stelzer Cup (Open division) will gain qualification to compete in the Australian Schools Championships in the Championship Division.
3×3 School Competitions
2025 Competition Closed
The 3×3 School Competitions are Basketball ACT’s annual school competitions adapted to the 3×3 format for a fast paced, physical game.
Basketball ACT’s 3×3 School Competitions are contested across:
Primary School – contested across male and female; – 2025 Competition Closed
High School – contested across Yr 7/8 and Yr 9/10 age groups – male and female; – 2025 Competition Closed
College – contested across male and female.
